Message from the Director 

Dear Blount County Learning Center Community,

I want to extend to you and your family a very warm welcome to the Blount County Learning Center.  Each year we welcome our students from all over the county to come and be challenged and to acquire new skills.  The Blount County Learning Center is committed to providing a challenging and rigorous curriculum that helps each student progress and develop while at the same time providing a safe and nurturing environment for them to thrive.

“Excellence in education is when we do everything that we can to make sure that they become everything that they can.”

In one sentence Carol Ann Tomlinson captures the mission of the Blount County Learning Center.  Our goal is to provide the building blocks that will become the future for our students to be the very best they can be.  Our dedicated faculty and staff provide the spark that enhances learning and builds confidence that translates into success.

I come to the Center with 26 years of experience, 17 of those years in administration.  My educational journey has taken me from the high school English classroom to the office of a K-12 unit school.  I have experience the high of State Championships with my students and the low of the loss of a classmate.  It is this experience that I will bring every day to the Center. Joining a great faculty and staff to provide the very best education possible for your children.

As the Director of the Blount County Learning Center, I feel that it is my responsibility to stress the need to Build, Create, and Succeed.  I also want to maintain a supportive and collaborative spirit in the school and the community.  Together as a school community, unique as we are, we will build on the traditions of the past and the challenges of the future.  I am looking forward to a great year.
